Back in 2019 an indie publisher, Buttonshy, held a contest with a ridiculous premise: make an 18 game with only one card. So I made a ridiculous Othello variant (with some inspiration from another Shakespeare play) and was pleasantly surprised to see it beat out over 200 other entries when it got into the finals.

Would I do this differently without that constraint now? Sure. But I'm damn proud of how this silly little game turned out. It's swingy, strange, and fascinating— just like The Winter's Tale.
